Konstantinos Afordakos
About me:
I joined Valery Grinevich's lab in 2021 as an Erasmus+ trainee and continued to work in the lab as a PhD student. My time here sparked my interest in the function of oxytocin in different cell types and its impact on local circuitry and behavior. As a PhD student, I am now exploring this system in depth by dissecting the cellular components of oxytocin circuits in the forebrain of rats and investigating their relationship with social behaviors, using a combination of in vivo and ex vivo techniques.
Konstantinos holds an MSci in Biological Applications and Technologies from the University of Ioannina. He is currently working as a PhD student in our lab.
